To portray the status of higher education in the country, Ministry of Human Resource Development has endeavoured to conduct an annual web-based All India Survey on Higher Education (AISHE) since 2010-11. The survey covers all the Institutions in the country engaged in imparting of higher education. The survey is conducted for all educational institutions in India on many categories like teachers, student enrolment, programmes, examination results, education finance, and infrastructure. This survey is used to make informed policy decisions and research for the development of education sector.

The objectives of the survey are to
  • Identify all the institutions of higher learning in the country
  • Collect data from all the higher education institutions on various aspects of higher education
Data on the following aspects are collected and submitted annually:
  • Institution’s Basic Details
  • Teacher’s Details
  • Details of Non-Teaching Staff
  • Students enrolled in these programmes
  • Examination result of the terminal year of each Programme
  • Financial Information such as Receipt and Expenditure under various heads
  • Availability of Infrastructure
  • Scholarships, Loans & Accreditation

Chikkanna Government Arts College actively contributes to the regular survey conducted by the Department of Higher Education in Ministry of HRD. This annual exercise is performed by collecting the above required data and submitting them to the Ministry of HRD in a DCF through the web portal.
